Summer Blog

It’s always an interesting challenge when it comes to blog time. But I secretly enjoy it because it forces me to reflect on the moments that have happened in the past couple months and to take the time to write on my experiences. Life can get so busy that it’s easy to keep going but not look back to appreciate & learn from the moments.

Anyhow, earlier this summer I went to Korea by myself. Growing up I always watched Korean shows, so I decided to travel 13 hours to fulfill my KPOP dreams. The music, food, and culture have always been appealing and it was awesome to be able to experience it for myself.

Being alone for about 2 weeks was intimidating at first. But solo travel also gives you the ultimate freedom. You wake up and it’s just you – what you want, where you want, when you want. In that freedom and infinite space of possibility, you meet yourself. You hit the limits of what you like and don’t like. There’s no one to force you in any direction or override your reasons. The greatest reward of solo travel is the personal growth and each time you go away, you learn to become a little more independent, confident, and in tune with your emotions & desires. I understand that solo travel is not for everyone, but I hope you are able to find an outlet that allows you to challenge yourself to learn more about yourself and really discover your greatest potential.

P.S. Thank you to all the strangers who said yes when I asked them to take a picture 🙂
