Summer Blog
Back in March, if you told me the stock market would be close to where we started the year I would have been overjoyed. It certainly would have meant that we’ve found a cure or a vaccine and the world is in a better place. But unfortunately, that couldn’t be further from the reality we’re facing – a pandemic, a global recession, unprecedented job losses, escalating geopolitical tensions and civil unrest.
This has been a humbling year for all of us. It reminds us of how delicate our lives are and how quickly things can change. It’s refocused our gratitude on the things that really matter. And it’s reinforced our mission and process. You’ve all heard me say that I don’t want your plans dictated by interest rates, elections, things happening overseas or anything else outside of our control. We tell all new clients that we’re more conservative, for that very reason. It’s exactly years like this that we plan for. Thank you to our wonderful clients and community for your trust in us.
It’s been an unnerving and anxious year. But we will get through this. And I’m hopeful that we’ll be better for it; individually, as a community and as a country.
